On August 6, the 5th MLILY Cup World Go Open Tournament came to an end in Zhengzhou city, Central China's Henan province, with Chinese players qualifying for the last 8.
The game's 3rd round focused on the matches between Chinese and South Korean players. Chinese players Li Xuanhao, Liu Yuhang, and Dang Yifei defeated Shin Jinseo, Kim MyeongHun, and Park Geunho, respectively. That means China has ensured one finish of the 5th MLILY Cup.

The other five matches were all played by Chinese players. Yu Zhiying, the only female player in the top 16, was defeated by Xu Jiayang. Tan Xiao defeated renowned Weiqi player Ke Jie; Mi Yuting, Liao Yuanhe, and Gu Zihao beat Wang Xinghao, Gu Lingyi, and Chen Xian, respectively.

"The Chinese team has played very well and showed great strength. The event will leave an indelible mark on their Weiqi career," said Ma Wang, chairman of the Henan Weiqi Association (HWA), excitedly.
"Participating in the 'MLILY' Cup has made me gain a lot, and I am delighted here, "said Chinese player Tan Xiao, who defeated Ke Jie in the 3rd round. He said he would review the match and fully prepare for future competitions.

The draw for the eight matches was also held Sunday afternoon. The results are as follows: Dang Yifei vs. Gu Zihao, Liao Yuanhe vs. Mi Yuting, Liu Yuhang vs. Xu Jiayang, and Tan Xiao vs. Li Xuanhao. At this point, the 5th MLILY Cup World Go Open Tournament has successfully closed. Competitions for the top 8 will be in Nantong City, East China's Jiangsu province, by the end of this year.
In the afternoon, the HWA invited Chinese Weiqi professional players Lian Xiao and Zhan Ying to explain the day's three Chinese and South Korean matches.
